CCP-NTH designs and organises benchmarking exercises on problems of interest to the UK nuclear community.

There have been many computer software packages and turbulence models developed in recent years alongside the booming activities in the development of advanced reactor designs. However, it is well known that the predictions can vary significantly from code to code even when nominally the same numerical methods and turbulence models are used. Benchmarking plays an important role in the verification and validation of the tools used for NTH analysis and increases the confidence in CFD.
